Mystic Saddle Ranch LLC is looking for qualified men and women who enjoy working with the public, are friendly and outgoing, outdoors oriented and are eager to learn new skills. Some horse and people experience is required to apply for the job.

TRAIL RIDE GUIDES
SEASON: The season will vary depending on the job applied for. Everyone will need to start no later than June 15th. All employees are expected to work through Labor Day.
The owners currently have an operation in Phoenix , AZ which runs from mid-October to early May. Qualified applicants would be considered for year round work if you are willing to make the move back and forth annually. Check this operation out at: www.cavecreektrailrides.com

SALARY: Monthly salaries vary and are based on experience, position and number of years with Mystic Saddle Ranch LLC. Each employee is paid a monthly salary. Base wages start at $1500.00 per month based on a 6-day workweek.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Care and safety of guests is our first priority !!
CORRAL MANAGER/GUIDE
- Daily operation of Redfish Corral or Galena Corral
- Oversee 2-5 other employees
- Provide leadership, carry out directions and policy of the owner.
- Upkeep of Horses & Tack
- Doctoring of sick and injured horses
- Responsible for corral & tack shed-upkeep and appearance
- Responsible for daily books & accounting
- Lead guided horseback trips with groups of 1-8
Other duties as assigned such as but not limited to:
Maintain cleaning corrals
Painting corrals
Unloading hay
Cleaning trails
Maintaining tack
Vehicle maintenance
Other
GUIDES AT REDFISH CORRALS OR GALENA CORRALS- Lead guided horseback trips-groups of 1-8
- Lead up to 4 trips per day
- Feed and care of horses
- Doctor sick and injured horses
- Saddling and unsaddling horses
- Maintain cleaning corrals
- Other duties as assigned: SEE "Other duties" under corral manager
- Guides at Galena must be able to drive teams with wagons.
DAY RIDE/PACKTRIP GUIDES & PACKERS WITH MYSTIC SADDLE RANCH LLC - Lead and facilitate pack trips and day rides into the Sawtooth Wilderness and other areas.
- Prep of equipment, horses, tack and camp gear prior to trip
- Selection and movement of horses to trailhead
- Teach guest about horses and surrounding area as applicable
- Prep and cook food while on trips for guest
- Care of Stock during trip
- Return equipment & horses to appropriate place upon completion of trip.

WAGE STRUCTURE AND BENEFITS
Base wage starts at $1500.00 per month based on a 6-day workweek. Increases are based on experience, skill level testing and time with Mystic Saddle Ranch LLC. Skill groups include: fly-fishing, cooking, interpretation and knowledge of plants, animals, geology and history, packing, driving skills, and advanced first-aid. Some positions have board and room available. If we provide board and room for you, we will deduct $350.00/month from your wages. Rent on the house in Stanley will range from $200.00-$300.00/month per employee living in the house. Trailer spaces are available to rent in Stanley.
BENEFITS
- Workman's' Compensation insurance coverage while working
- Payday is on the 5th and 20th of each month.
- One day off per week
- Mystic Saddle Ranch LLC will pay for your guide license as long as the term of employment is fulfilled.
- Transportation to and from corrals will be your responsibility. Work vehicles will be provided, as needed, for packers.
GENERAL POLICY INFORMATION
Mystic Saddle Ranch is a family owned outfitting business in the Sawtooth Valley near Stanley, Idaho. The six components of our operation are:
- Galena Stage Stop Corral: Located 20 miles north of Ketchum on State Highway 75. We run 20 head of riding stock and do 1 1/2 hour rides and 1/2 day and all day rides as well as weekly hayrides in conjunction with Galena Lodge. Staff of 2 - 3 employees. Housing is provided and you do your own food.
- Redfish Corral: Located 5 miles south of Stanley on the Redfish Lake Road. We run 30-40 head of stock and do 1 1/2 hour rides, 1/2 day rides and all day rides. Staff of 5-6 employees. Housing is as follows: rental house shared by other staff or provide your own housing.
- Mystic Saddle Ranch LLC: The house is located 15 miles south of Stanley on Highway 75. We offer day rides and extended day pack trips into the Sawtooth Wilderness and the Frank Church Wilderness. We run 30-40 head of stock, both riding and pack. Staff of 2 - 3 employees. Board and room is by invitation only or you may provide your own.
ALL GUIDES MUST BE FREE FROM FISH AND GAME VIOLATIONS, 18 YEARS OLD, HOLD A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE AND HAVE A VALID FIRST AID CERTIFICATION.
POLICY
Western hospitality is a must, our guest expect to see and experience a "Western Atmosphere" in our activities.
Dress in appropriate western attire (i.e.; cowboy boots, hat, shirts and pants that are clean and free from holes) during working hours.
Appropriate language and professionalism is expected at all times.
The use of illegal drugs will result in immediate dismissal.
No drinking of alcohol allowed while working. Alcoholic consumption during off time that impairs you ability to work will not be tolerated.
Be aware of safety considerations and legal responsibilities of guest.
All employees will be evaluated at to effectiveness on the job on a monthly basis.
No long distance calls. Please plan to have a calling card or have your own cell phone..
No pets allowed at work or at our provided housing.
We do not offer jobs to international students
Your guide fee is $110.00 or more and will be paid by us unless you leave our employment early.
